NEW YORK (AP) â" A colonize in a comic book industry who helped emanate The Joker in a Batman array has died.
Jerry Robinson died Wednesday during age 89.
Charles Kochman, his editor during Abrams Comic Arts, says Robinson brought realism and amusement to comics.
Kochman, a New York City resident, worked on a book published final year called "Jerry Robinson, Ambassador of Comics."
As an envoy for a genre, Robinson fought to win comic artists copyrights to their possess work.
A local of Trenton, N.J., he was usually 17 when he was hired by Batman creator Bob Kane. In a early 1940s, Robinson contributed images for some of cocktail culture's biggest icons including The Joker for emanate No. 1 of "Batman."
Later in life, Robinson taught during New York's School of Visual Arts.
